Now, a long time ago, I wrote a rant about bosses are just irrelevant and outdated by today's standards and that video game companies should have phased them out back in 2005 or so.
Then I ultimately realized that killing off bosses meant killing off a major genre of games, and racing lately hasn't had one since Shutokou Battle 01 (Genki Racing Project folded sometime around the early millenium to 2004, and no, M.Rossi does not count nor Horizon and anything from the street racing-era NFS games.)
So what, fellow Jalops/Opponauts, would you consider to be a perfect boss?

M Rossi. I'm making him count.
Okay fine, Kimi? He at least has experience in a crap-ton of different types of racing.

A hybrid of all your ghost data up until that point. In order to win, you must beat yourself.

You must escape before he gets your car and dragons the shit out of it. No, you can't skip the cutscene.

But anyways, yeah, either Kimi or Hamilton. Initially, I wanted to consider McRae or Senna, but that just doesn't feel right.

Look at what the new Need For Speed: Most Wanted did. And then don't do anything that it did! Rubberband difficulty made me stop playing that game!

But if your skills at the game improve as you progress, and the final boss is a combination of all of your ghost data from the start, doesn't it become easier to beat the boss with your final level of skill?

Any boss that utilizes rubber band A.I., since Midnight Club: Los Angeles was really difficult for me to play until I got the hang of the game's physics and was more conscious about how I drove.

Rubberbanding is a pox on racing games.

M. Rossi is peanuts! I forget the names of them, but the two AI players that always drive a black and a white car when you're driving in an Asian event. I lost track of how much swearing I did at them when I tried to beat the D350 Motegi circuit AE86 event before I was truly ready (I recently retried it and beat it easily)...
Not to mention a few other events that have since faded from memory to give room for that fucking AE86 event.

I always thought Graham Hill had a sinister look about him.
